Letters to Brett Favre
The Favre Letter
To Erick and Adam Rolfson and all my fans:
First, I should explain my purposes for this email. I’ve viewed your web site a few times in the past month and I felt that it would be appropriate for me to get a message to y’all before the season starts. I debated since my trade to the New York Jets on how that should be done. I considered a message from my publicist or perhaps from my agent and long-time friend Bus Cook but decided that an email from myself would be best as it allows me to be open with you and remain low-key. Please understand that I wish my own contact information to remain private due to the nature of public internet forums and because your web site is a private operation rather than a media outlet in the traditional sense. That is why I’m using this communication medium to contact you. Take what I have to say for what it’s worth.
I would like to say to my dear fans that I am humbled and awestruck by………………………

On behalf of myself, my brother Adam, and Brett Favre Fans everywhere, I’d like to offer my insights on the summer of 2008 and the story behind the letter we received from Brett Favre.
The days and weeks from July 11, 2008 through August 6, 2008 were among the most significant in sports history. It was during this period that Brett Favre announced his desire to return from retirement to the NFL, and an intense showdown between the three-time league MVP and the Green Bay Packers ensued.
Fans, athletes, and people from all walks of life were captivated by the story, many of them waiting for updates on an hour-by-hour basis. My brother Adam and I organized friends, family, and fellow fans, launching a web site and organizing rallies to show our support for Brett Favre. The “Bring Back Brett Favre” movement was seemingly everywhere and consumed the lives of many for those 27 harrowing summer days.
In the end, the Packers decided not to bring Brett back for another season, and he was traded to the New York Jets. Because of bringbackbrettfavre.com and the outpouring of support from fans around the world, Brett sent us a letter.
This letter was not just addressed to Adam and I — Brett made it clear that his email was intended for all of his fans, and we have been waiting for an appropriate time to share it. We firmly believe that time is now because of the countless messages we received from fans during the creation of our book, and the many messages that continue to pour in every day.
Many of the heartfelt messages we received from Brett’s fans can be found in the pages of “Letters To Brett Favre: A Fan Tribute” — which is a continuation of our efforts to pay tribute to one of the greatest signal-callers to ever play the game.
(The Favre Letter) covers all kinds of good stuff concerning the Green Bay Packers, certain members of the front office, Coach McCarthy, Aaron Rodgers, the terms his career ended on in Green Bay, and most importantly His Fans. This isn’t a letter from Brett’s publicist or his agent Bus Cook its a message from Brett himself.
Our hope is that this letter will answer any lingering questions fans may have, and we hope it will fully illustrate Brett’s appreciation for his fans everywhere.
The Favre Letter is now available for all Favre Fan Insiders to read, spread the word and if you feel compelled to write Brett do so.
